Heaven and Earth: The Poetry of Richard Wilbur
(7th-12th)

Speaker: Tim McCoy | Date: Wednesday, July 13

Time: 11:00-12:00 | Location: Sayers Room

Details:

For his ability to express the humble details of ordinary human experience in light of heavenly truths, Richard Wilbur is considered by some to be America's preeminent Christian poet.  His verse poignantly and reverently reveals the gentle fingerprints of God all over creation, exalts the goodness of earthly life, and celebrates the gift of our senses. Wilbur's poetry provides teachers a beautiful example of how to help their students observe and connect the richness of their subjects and the stuff of earth to transcendent, Christian realities.
