Conference Speakers

Ben House

Speaker Bio:

Ben House was an awful student in junior high that became a junior high teacher, a totally unathletic kid who coached elementary basketball for ten years, an illogical poorly trained speaker who has taught logic and rhetoric, a man of extensive military and political experiences all gleaned in the safety of an easy chair with a book at hand, and an unrestrained buyer and reader of books.  Humanities teacher at Veritas Academy who also does administrative work when necessary.  So far as his documentable educational and literary contributions go, Ben received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a master's degree from East Texas State University in Texarkana.  He has been a teacher in both public and private schools for thirty years.  His book, Punic Wars and Culture Wars, was published in October of 2008.  He has also contributed chapters and introductions to other books. His teachings and writings center around history, literature, and theology.  He and his wife, Stephanie, a music teacher for 20 years, have four children: Nicholas (17), TaraJane (13), Nathaniel (11), and Caroline (8).
