Edith Schaeffer is best known as the wife of Francis Schaeffer.  Their enduring marriage produced children, grand and great-grandchildren, and L'Abri, a shelter community founded in 1955 in Switzerland for those seeking honest answers to honest faith-related questions.  She authored at least fifteen books whose main themes include practical theology concerning the family, prayer, Biblical studies, and the domestic arts.  She resides in Switzerland with her family and her influence is evidenced through various L'Abri Study Centers around the world as well as those who have digested and applied her biblical and practical insights through her contributions in speaking, publishing, and living a life bearing good fruit.
